Here's what we're covering:
• How to import coupon codes for platforms other than Shopify or Bigcommerce
• How to import coupon codes that are only available for a limited time
Note: CSV imports are NOT reversible. One you have imported your data, the changes will be made automatically.
Note: if you are a Shopify merchant who would like to import coupon codes, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to have this feature enabled.
If you're using Smile on a platform other than Shopify or Bigcommerce, you will need to create your own coupon codes to use as part of your rewards program. These codes need to then be imported into Smile.
Coupon codes should be created in a plain-text CSV file. This file should have a single column called "Code" which contains each of the unique reward codes you have created.
Make sure that you have only one coupon code per line, and that your first line is the column name (Code).
When you have finished compiling your CSV file, you need to import them into your Smile program.
Select the imported spending rule you set up in the Spending section of your program and find the Imported Codes section at the bottom.
Upload your CSV file and save your changes to start using your imported coupon codes.
Importing coupon codes for a limited period of time.
You can upload coupon codes that are only valid for a specific period of time.
You can do this by adding a starts_at and ends_at column to your CSV file.
Note: dates should be formatted as follows: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
Example: May 2, 2018 at 2:54 PM would be entered as 2018-05-02 14:54:00.
All times are considered UTC.
If no dates are specified, coupons will be available indefinitely.
If no starts_at date is indicated, coupons will be available immediately upon upload and remain valid until the specified ends_at date.
If no ends_at date is indicated, coupons will be available indefinitely once the starts_at date has passed.
