What are VIP tags?
VIP tags is a way for you to import Smile VIP data directly into your Shopify backend. What this means is that in customer views, and customer exports in Shopify, you will be able to see what Smile VIP tier a specific customer is in.
Here is an example of what it would like like on the customers page in Shopify:
How to set up Smile VIP tags in Shopify.
Importing your Smile VIP tiers into Shopify is quite simple.
Navigate to Smile Apps and go to edit your Shopify platform integration.
Simple click the enable button and your Smile VIP tiers will automatically be synced to the appropriate customers in Shopify.
What can you do with VIP tags?
Now that you have your VIP tiers imported into your customer's Shopify accounts, you'll be able to use them in a variety of ways.
Create Flow actions based on VIP tiers.
The first use case of this is in your Shopify Flow actions. You can create segmented flows based on your customers VIP tiers. If a customer places an order who is a top tier VIP, you can leave a note on the order, send a Slack message to an employee, or send an email directly to the customer to make them feel special.
Segment data and gain insights on tiers.
Another great use is to sort your customers by VIP tier and find out important metrics like average order value and customer lifetime value. Just by exporting your customers in Shopify, you can use programs like Excel or Google Sheets to perform simple calculations and determine things like how valuable your top tier customers are, or what their average order value is.
Create unique perks with Shopify Scripts.
With Shopify Scripts and Smile VIP tags, you can automate actions and create benefits that didn't exist before. A good example of this is using scripts to give your highest tiered customers free shipping on all of their order. To do this would require a small amount of coding and we recommend using a developer.
If you have access to our developer docs, you can see a few example scripts you can build from.
