In May we’re updating your Notifications section to make it even easier for you to build reward emails that integrate seamlessly with the look and feel of your brand.
You’ll see an in-app message to let you know the update has been complete, directing you to your new notifications section in Smile Admin.
Here’s what you can expect after the update is complete.
Completely redesigned email templates
Easily build beautiful emails with new email templates. Our new email layouts are more engaging and offer plenty of space toadd in your logo and custom images to truly make them look and feel like your own.

How existing email templates will be mapped over:
Emails sent to members that have earned points for engaging with your program, have used their points towards a reward or entered a new VIP tier will use a single template. Each template will automatically populate your templates with relevant program variables, which means fewer emails to customize and a more consistent experience for your customers.
We’d recommend taking a few minutes to add your logo and a custom banner image to your new templates after the update, to ensure they reflect the look and feel of your brand.

New email theming editor
You’ll be able to build professional looking reward emails that are a seamless extension of your brand in minutes with our new email editor.
In just a few clicks, you can add your logo and custom banner images to your templates to make them more engaging for your members. When your members see your emails as a natural extension of your brand, they’ll be more likely to engage with them.
✅ Note: Adding custom images is only available on a Smile paid plan.
New enable and disable settings
You’ll be able to easily enable or disable all emails that use a single notification type template in Smile Admin. Types of email notifications include:
- Points earned
- Reward redeemed
- Birthday points
- Points expiry warning
- Points expiry last chance
- Referral completed
- Referral shared
- VIP tier entry
How your email settings will map over:
We’ll make sure to map your current notification settings over as closely as possible.
If you have notifications enabled for any of the actions handled by a single email template we’ll enable all emails that use that template.
If you have four earning rules, and notifications are enabled for three of these rules we will enable all points earned emails that are sent using our points earned template.
