Update your BigCommerce store to smile.js

    Go to Dev Tools in Smile Admin.

    Click "Update to Smile.js" in the banner at the top of the window.

    Confirm the installation by selecting the "Update" button in the pop-up modal.

    Once the update is completed, you will see a blue banner confirming the installation, noting that you still have some steps left.

    You now need to configure your store to use the new Smile.js code instead of the old one.

    Step 1

    Go to your BigCommerce App settings in Smile Admin under Apps > Manage > BigCommerce > Edit.

    Step 2

    Click Show Launcher Details to reveal your new Smile.js BigCommerce snippet and copy it.

    Step 3

    Open your BigCommerce Store Admin and paste the copied snippet into Storefront > Footer Scripts.

    Step 4

    Save your changes to finish updating to Smile.js.

    WebDav

    Go to Dev Tools in Smile Admin.

    Click "Update to Smile.js" in the banner at the top of the window.

    Step 1

    Login to your BigCommerce Admin and open the Template files page from your Storefront.

    Step 2

    Expand the Panels folder and click Edit under the menu for Footer.html.  

    Step 3

    Add %%Panel.SmileInitializer%%to the file, replacing the old Sweet Tooth widget tab code if it exists.

    Step 4

    Save your changes to finish updating to Smile.js.


    Note: Once you have updated to Smile.js you cannot revert to the old javascript library. All future updates to our APIs and embeddable experiences will be made through Smile.js
