# Redeem points at checkout

> Let customers redeem their points for rewards directly in the checkout.

Allowing signed-in customers to redeem points at checkout gives them a last-minute incentive to apply a discount to their order. This can help increase engagement and strengthen long-term customer loyalty.

  **Feature availability**: Redeem points at checkout is available on **Growth, Plus, and Enterprise** plans for merchants on **Shopify Plus**.

## Add redeem points to the checkout

1. From **Smile Admin**, navigate to [**On-site content**](https://admin.shopify.com/apps/smile-io/on-site).
2. In the **Redeem at checkout** section, click **Setup**.
3. In the **Quick setup** section, click **Go to checkout** settings.
4. In the **Configurations** section, click **Customize**.
5. In the **Information** section, click **Add app block**.
6. Search for **Smile**.
7. Choose **Redeem points**.
8. Click **Save**.

  **Note:** In the **Checkout behavior** settings, you can also choose to show the app block in **Shop Pay**.

## Appearance

The **Redeem points at checkout** extension uses Shopify's native checkout UI components. Colors, fonts, and button styles are inherited from your Shopify checkout branding settings.

Appearance settings for this extension are not available in Smile Admin. To change how the extension looks, update your checkout branding settings in Shopify.
