# Use Shopify Flow to award points

> Award points automatically using Shopify Flow and Smile.

The **Send Smile activity** action lets you award points when specific events occur in Shopify. You can use Shopify Flow triggers and conditions to create custom earning opportunities beyond Smile's built-in actions.

<Note>
  **Note:** Not sure whether to use **Send Smile activity** or **Adjust points balance**? See [**Shopify Flow and Smile**](/en/articles/shopify-flow-and-smile).

   * Select **Order paid** when your Shopify Flow trigger references an order, such as Order Paid, Order Created, Order Updated, or Fulfillment Created.
   * Select **Customer created** when your Shopify Flow workflow uses customer-based triggers, such as Customer Updated, Customer Joined Segment, Customer Tags Added, or Return Processed.
4. In the **Action title** field, enter a descriptive name.
5. In the **Action title once completed** field, enter the completion text customers will see.
6. Click **Create**.

## Step 2: Create a workflow in Shopify Flow
