     * 6 months
     * 1 year
     * 2 years

## Configure notification thresholds

When a customer's points are about to expire, the notification thresholds determine how far in advance the corresponding customer email is sent.

| **Customer email name** | **Sending date determined by** |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Points Expiry - Warning     | Warning threshold              |
| Points Expiry - Last Chance | Last chance threshold |

To change a notification threshold:

1. In Smile Admin, navigate to **Program** > **[Points](https://app.smile.io/reward-programs/points)**.
2. In the **Points expiry** section, locate the **Warning threshold** or **Last chance threshold** card.
3. Click **Edit**.
4. Enter the number of days in advance you would like the email to be sent.
5. Click **Save**.

<Warning>
  **Warning:** This setting only has an effect when the corresponding customer email is enabled. If the corresponding customer email is disabled, then no points expiry notifications will be sent.
</Warning>
