# Configure VIP perks

> Add perks to your VIP tiers to provide ongoing benefits to customers in each tier.

Before you can configure perks, make sure your [VIP tiers are already configured.](https://help.smile.io/en/articles/4036322-add-vip-tiers)

Perks are benefits customers receive while they remain in a VIP tier. This article explains how to add perks to each tier.

## Add a perk to a VIP tier

1. From Smile Admin, navigate to **Program** > **VIP**.
2. In the **VIP tiers** section, select the tier you want to edit.
3. In the **Perks** section, click **Edit perks**.
4. Enter the perk name in the **New perk** field.
5. Click **Add**.
6. Click **Save**.

Repeat these steps to add more perks to the same tier or to configure perks for other tiers.

## Remove a perk from a VIP tier

1. From Smile Admin, navigate to **Program** > **VIP**.
2. In the **VIP tiers** section, select the tier you want to edit.
3. In the **Perks** section, click the **X** icon beside the perk you want to remove.
4. Click **Save**.

## Important considerations

* Perks are informational only and are not managed by Smile. You’ll need to set up and deliver each perk outside of Smile. To learn more about how VIP rewards and perks work, see [Understand VIP rewards and perks](/en/articles/4036320-vip-rewards-and-perks).
* Use clear perk names so customers understand the benefits included in each VIP tier.
