# Hive integration overview

> Connect Smile.io with Hive to sync points balance and VIP tier into your email and SMS campaigns.

## About Hive

[Hive](https://hive.co/) is a marketing automation platform built for live event promoters, combining email, SMS, CRM, and reporting in one tool. When connected to Smile, you can sync loyalty data to Hive contacts, segment audiences by points or VIP tier, and trigger automated flows based on loyalty events.

## Features and functionality

With the Smile and Hive integration, you can:

* Sync points balance, VIP tier, and referral URL to Hive contact profiles
* Segment audiences by points balance or VIP tier
* Trigger automated email and SMS flows when customers cross points thresholds or change VIP tiers

## Integration requirements

To use the Smile and Hive integration, you must meet the following requirements:

  This integration is available on the Essential, Standard, Growth, Plus, and Enterprise plans. The number of integrations you can connect depends on your plan.
