The Points Activity dashboard gives you a clear view of how customers earn and redeem points over time. By regularly reviewing these metrics, you can spot trends in engagement, ensure rewards are appealing, and make adjustments to keep your program effective.

Key points metrics

The dashboard highlights four main metrics that summarize program performance at a glance. All data is shown for the last 30 days.

Members added

Defined as: The number of new customers who signed up for your loyalty program.

Why it matters: A steady flow of new members shows your program is attracting interest and growing your community of loyal shoppers.

Total points earned

Defined as: The total number of points customers earned by completing activities such as purchases, referrals, or social sharing.

Why it matters: High earning shows customers are actively engaging. It also indicates that the earning opportunities you’ve set up are motivating and easy to participate in.

Total points redeemed

Defined as: The total number of points customers have redeemed.

Why it matters: Redemption is the clearest sign that customers find value in your rewards. A healthy points redemption total shows your program encourages customers to return and spend their points.

Redemption rate

Defined as: The number of points redeemed divided by the number of points earned.

Why it matters: A higher redemption rate means customers are not just collecting points but also using them—keeping them engaged and connected to your brand. A low rate may suggest that rewards aren’t appealing enough or that customers need more reminders to redeem.

Points reports

Pre-built points reports help you understand more detailed information about your program’s points activity and the top ways customers earn and redeem. Reports also let you adjust the timeframe and review data over longer or shorter periods.

How to use this data

Regularly reviewing your points activity ensures your program stays effective and aligned with customer expectations.

Here are a few ways to take action:

  • Encourage earning: If points earned are low, highlight ways customers can earn points in your email marketing or on your website, or try adding new ways to earn.

  • Promote rewards: If redemption is lagging, feature rewards in campaigns or experiment with lower-point, high-perceived-value items as ways to redeem.

  • Balance engagement: Use redemption rate trends to adjust earn rates or reward thresholds, keeping the program motivating but sustainable.

By keeping an eye on points activity, you’ll ensure your loyalty program continues to drive engagement, retention, and long-term customer value.
