About Subtotal

Subtotal is a retail data platform that links shoppers’ purchase history from major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Sephora to brand accounts. When connected to Smile, Subtotal awards loyalty points to customers for verified retail purchases, bridging in-store and online activity into one loyalty program.

Features and functionality

With the Smile and Subtotal integration, you can:
  • Reward points for verified retail purchases
  • Award points when customers link a retail account
  • Set custom points-per-dollar values for each retailer

Integration requirements

To use the Smile and Subtotal integration, you must meet the following requirements:

Have a Subtotal account

Have a Smile account with API access

This integration requires API access, which is typically only available on the Plus and Enterprise plans. If you’re on a lower plan that does not include API access, you can contact support to discuss options.
