Install the Yotpo integration

To install and configure the Smile and Yotpo integration:
  1. In Yotpo, locate your App Key and Secret Key (guide).
  2. In Smile Admin, install the Yotpo integration.
    • In the API Key field, enter your Yotpo App Key.
    • In the API Secret field, enter your Yotpo Secret Key.
    • Click Connect to Yotpo.

Setup a Yotpo way to earn

Once the Yotpo app is connected to your Smile account, you need to set up a Yotpo way to earn so that customers can earn points for leaving reviews.
  1. In Smile Admin, navigate to Program > Points.
  2. Click Add ways to earn.
  3. Scroll down to the Smile Apps section and click the Product review: Yotpo option.
  4. Enter the number of points you would like customers to earn, and customize the way to earn just like you would any other! Use unique names, details, and instructions to fully incorporate it into your rewards program.
  5. Click Create.
Note: This way to earn requires customers to be a verified buyer, otherwise they will not receive points for leaving a review. It’s also not possible to create different earning rules for different review types (i.e. photo review vs. video review,etc).

Troubleshooting

If customers are not earning points for reviews, here are some common reasons why:
  1. Customers are invited to leave reviews in an email post-purchase. If a customer does not leave a review through the form included in the email, they will not receive points because they will not be able to be classified as verified buyers.
  2. Customers must leave the reviews for products at your store. The integration does not currently award points for Yotpo website reviews.
