Set up your loyalty program to allow customers to earn loyalty points on in-store purchases.
Add Smile tile to POS grid
The Smile loyalty program tile is required for earning & spending points in POS.
Enable POS points earning
Smile allows you to choose between earning points in-store only, online only, or both. POS features need to be enabled before customers can earn points in store.
From Smile Admin, navigate to Settings > General > Platform > Reward Rules.
Click Edit.
Select Online and in-store or In-store only (POS).
Click Save.
Add ways to earn points in store
After enabling in-store loyalty, you need to define how many points customers will earn relative to their purchase.
From Smile Admin, navigate to Program > Points.
Click Add ways to earn.
Select Place an order.
Configure how many points the customer will earn.
Click Save.
π‘ Important: "Place an order" is currently the only earning rule compatible with POS.
If you're selling in-store and online, "Place an order" applies to both sales channels. It's not possible to scope ways to earn to a single sales channel.
Any points earned in-store can be spent online, or vice-versa.
βΉοΈ Note: If a customer uses the same email address for in-store and online purchases, Smile will automatically link all activity, points and discounts to the same customer profile.
The customer has a single profile which is shared between in-store and online.
Earn points on in-store purchases
After setting up in-store points earning, customers will earn points on their purchases when a customer profile is added to the cart and the profile contains an email address.
β οΈ Warning: If no email address is entered for the customer in cart, Smile won't award any points on the purchase.
The item(s) being purchased must also not be excluded from earning points.
