Configure reward restrictions

Restrict rewards to specific collections on your store or add a minimum purchase amount.

Adding restrictions to your rewards allows you to define how they can be used. You can limit a reward to a specific collection (Shopify only) or require customers to meet a minimum spend before using the coupon.

ℹ️ Note: To add a new reward, follow our guide on configuring ways to redeem points.

Require a minimum purchase amount


Adding a minimum purchase amount ensures that a customer must spend at least this amount to apply the reward.

To add a minimum purchase requirement:

  1. In Smile Admin, navigate to Program > Points.

  2. In the Minimum requirement card, select Minimum purchase amount.

  3. Enter the minimum dollar value.

  4. Click Save.

ℹ️ Note: A minimum purchase restriction can only be added to Amount discount, Percentage off, and Free product rewards.

Limit to a specific collection


To restrict a reward to certain products, you can limit it to specific collections in your store.

💡 Important: This feature is only available for merchants on Shopify. The collection you want to select must already exist in Shopify before following the steps below.

To add a collection restriction to a reward:

  1. In Smile Admin, navigate to Program > Points.

  2. In the Ways to redeem card, find the reward you want to modify, and click Edit.

  3. In the Applies to card, select Specific collection.

  4. Use the dropdown to select the collection you’d like to restrict the reward to.

  5. Click Save.

ℹ️ Note: A collection restriction can only be added to Amount discount and Percentage off rewards.
