How to connect Rep AI to Smile
Follow these steps in Rep AI to set up the integration:Step 1: Access your integration settings
- Log in to your Rep AI Console.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Integrations.
- Locate Smile.io under the Loyalty category.
Step 2: Get your Smile API key
- Log in to Smile Admin.
- Navigate to Settings > Developer tools.
- Copy your API key.
Step 3: Connect Smile
- Return to the Rep AI Console.
- Click Connect next to Smile.io
- Paste your API key.
- Click Test connection.
- Click Save.
Important: Rep AI shares the number of points a customer has, but does not calculate their monetary value. If you want your AI to explain what points are worth (for example, “500 points = $5 off”), add this information to your AI Instructions in the Training section of your Rep AI Console.
How the integration works
When the integration is enabled:- Rep AI retrieves the customer’s points balance when they are logged in to their account.
- The AI can reference points during conversations when relevant.
- If a customer has a points balance, the AI may highlight it during the conversation.
- If a customer has no points, the AI does not mention the loyalty program or points balance.
Important notes
- Rep AI does not apply points at checkout. Customers must redeem their points before or during checkout, depending on your setup.
- Rep AI shows points balances only. VIP tier status and rewards catalogs are not yet supported but may be added in future updates.
