Send a test email
- From Smile Admin, go to Settings > Customer emails.
- Select the email you want to test, then click Edit.
- Click Send test email.
- Enter the email address you want to send the test to.
- Click Send test.
What to expect in a test email
- Dynamic variables appear as placeholders
Fields like{{customer.first_name}}or{{reward_fulfillment.name}}will not populate with real data in test emails. - Unsubscribe link is not active
The unsubscribe link in test emails is not functional. - Your branding is applied
Your store’s logo, sender name, and branding display as configured.
Tips
- Check your actual inbox
Email clients (e.g. Gmail or Outlook) can render emails differently. Sending a test email is the best way to see the final result. - Use preview for quick checks
You can use the in-app preview under Settings > Branding > Email to quickly review visual updates before sending a test. - One recipient at a time
Test emails can only be sent to one address per send.
