Introduction

At times you may have the need to limit the amount of times a customer can earn points for an action to prevent giving away too many points. This article will show you how to configure limiting the number of times a customer can earn points on any given action.

This feature is only available on a Smile paid plan on the Shopify and BigCommerce platforms.


Limit the number of times a customer can earn points for an action

  1. Select the earning rule you'd like to limit from the Actions section of your points program.

  2. Under the Earning Value, check the box for "Limit the number of times each customer can complete this action"

3. Check the checkbox to limit points earning on this action. Fill in the required fields to indicate how many times a customer can earn points on this action and within what time frame: lifetime, day, 7 days or 30 days.

4. Once you've saved your changes, customers will not be able to earn points for that action beyond the limitations you've set.
