How customers earn points for their birthday

Everyone likes to celebrate their special day! Bring that excitement to your rewards program by setting up birthday rewards for your customers. 🥳


How the customer birthday reward works

Anyone with a customer account can add their Birthday to Smile! Customers just need to log into the Smile panel and head to the Ways to Earn Section then they can click on Edit Date next the Celebrate a Birthday.

Once they add the date in MM / DD format and click Save Date, they will receive an email on their birthday to let them know they received points!

To discourage customers from claiming their birthday is today or tomorrow to game the system for points, we have added a layer of security.

A customer will not get rewarded points for their birthday this year if they enter a date that is in the next 30 days. They will be rewarded the following year on that date.

When are the points rewarded?

The points will be rewarded once a year on the customer’s birthday. Points are not issued immediately when the customer enters their birthday.

📝 Smile Pro Tip: If a customer reaches out about not getting points for their birthday because they entered a date that is in the next 30 days, you can always opt to manually award them.
